Rhythm and Booze

Rhythm and Booze

On 2006’s RHYTHM AND BOOZE, the Arizona-based ska-punk group Authority Zero treats listeners to a live acoustic performance. Although the unplugged setting might seem ill-fitted to the band’s style, it works remarkably well, adding a pleasant organic vibe to the dubby “Retreat” and the urgent “Revolution.” Given the loose, laid-back atmosphere and audible crowd noise, this disc may be the next best thing to being at an Authority Zero show in person.
